The Mellot dynasty was founded in Sancerre almost five centuries ago by Pierre-Etienne Mellot and, since then, the family has always been involved in winemaking. In fact, in 1698, César Mellot, was entrusted with the weighty task of advising King Louis XIV on his choice of wines. Throughout the years, each new generation has continued to enrich and perfect the family’s winemaking skills.

Vineyard certified with ISO 14001

The wine company of Joseph Mellot owns over a hundred hectares in Centre-Loire. This certification was awarded to Joseph Mellot’s entreprise for the environmental improvements made within the business, the production line and the wine sales. This company based in Sancerre, employs fifty people and it has undertaken in a large project to make beneficial environmental changes.
