| Young red wine, blend of Syrah-35%- and Monastrell-65% –Monastrell grape is native to Jumilla in Southeast Spain, and is known in other winemaking regions like Bandol in France as Mourvèdre. The grapes used in the production of this wine are grown in our own vineyards. The Monastrell is from the Cerrillares vineyard at 600 m above sea level and the Syrah at the Castillo de Luzón vineyard at 700 m above sea level. Both of these vineyards have a maximum yield of 4000 kg of grape per hectare. The harvest took place during the middle of September 2006 for the Syrah and the first week of October for the Monastrell. The grapes were handpicked. Maceration lasted 20 days with the temperature being maintained below 24ºC for the Syrah and 12 days maceration at 28ºC or less for the Monastrell. In both cases the wine was macerated in contact with the skins before being deposited in stainless steel tanks where the malolactic fermentation took place. TASTING NOTES The outstanding LUZON 2006 is a blend of 65% Monastrell (Mourvèdre) and 35% Syrah. It is a full-throttle, exuberant, dense ruby/purple-coloured effort with loads of crème de cassis, liquorice, truffle, and acacia flower characteristics. This exotic, deep, broad, intense red should be drunk over the next 3-4 years, although it may last longer. |

| Selected Wine of the Week by Wine Spectator: “Lively flavors of black cherry, red currant, mineral and coffee mingle in this fresh, firm red. Has very bright acidity, with just enough tannins for grip. Drink now through 2009.” |
